Axial length (AL) is the distance from the cornea to the retinal pigment epithelium layer of the eye. In children, excessive axial length growth is a major factor contributing to the progression of myopia (nearsightedness). If the axial length exceeds 26mm, the risk of developing vision-threatening eye diseases in the future significantly increases.

Regular measurement of axial length and myopia progression can effectively assess the effectiveness of myopia management. Therefore, myopia control consultants can adjust the treatment plan as necessary to achieve optimal control outcomes.
